PT | Popcubito com 157 cm de altura por 145 cm de largura em pano cru, é uma peculiar e cativante simbiose entre uma estética pop e  uma linguagem cubista. Onde a iconografia, grafismos e símbolos pairam sobre um mundo surrealista, difuso e abstrato ao estilo de Joan Miró - à exceção da coroa de espinhos que se isola da imensidão de tons castanhos. Uma cabeça branca de cavalo atenta e a Pantera cor de rosa ocupam o espaço central da composição. Contornados por corpos vermelhos expressionistas cortados por grafismos pretos. Diferentes elementos compositivos agrupam-se em três, distribuídos pelo espaço: formas humanas estilizadas a preto, no canto inferior esquerdo; figuras abstratas na lateral direita a vermelho; e cadeiras organizadas em sobras descendentes.

Dentro deste mundo onírico, a Pantera cor de rosa parece estar bastante à vontade e convida o espectador a juntar-se a ela. A única referência para nos guiarmos no meio deste cenário delirante é a bússola no canto superior esquerdo. Que se opõe ao buraco negro no canto oposto. Com este trabalho pretendeu-se dialogar e reinventar noções do surrealismo abstrato, através de uma iconografia pop, cruzada por laivos de expressionismo abstrato, num exercício de aproximação do paradoxo pictórico.

Fazendo uso do veículo da literalidade dos símbolos que fazem parte da nossa vivência contemporânea, para expressar a complexidade dos estados de espírito vividos.

ENG | Popcubito, 157cm high by 145cm wide on raw cloth, is a peculiar and captivating symbiosis between a pop aesthetic and a cubist language. Where the iconography, graphics and symbols hover over a surreal, diffuse and abstract world in the style of Joan Miró - with the exception of the crown of thorns which is isolated from the immensity of brown tones. An attentive white horse's head and the pink Panther occupy the central space of the composition. Surrounded by expressionist red bodies cut by black graphics. Different compositional elements are grouped into three, distributed throughout the space: stylized human forms in black, in the bottom left corner; abstract figures on the right side in red; and chairs arranged in descending overhangs.

Within this dreamlike world, the Pink Panther seems quite at ease and invites the viewer to join her. The only reference to guide us in this delirious setting is the compass in the top left-hand corner. It opposes the black hole in the opposite corner. The aim of this work was to engage in a dialog and reinvent notions of abstract surrealism through pop iconography, crossed with hints of abstract expressionism, in an exercise in approaching pictorial paradox.

Making use of the vehicle of the literalness of the symbols that are part of our contemporary experience, to express the complexity of the states of mind experienced.

ENG | Coletivo Triciclo (Gil, Tomás & Vasco) is a young and ambitious group whose artistic practice is defined by its versatility and dynamism. Their artistic process essentially involves the intervention of all three members of the collective. Although their aesthetic is often associated with figuration and pop art, it also incorporates abstract and expressionist influences. This aesthetic flexibility is central to their work, as they believe that different visual languages offer new ways of expressing moods, tensions and the complexities of contemporary life.
