Sinopse | Synopsis

PT | Entendendo o espaço como suporte, este projeto mostra uma pintura a tinta da china que abre uma passagem do bidimensional para a tridimensional. Ao modelar e reconfigurar o espaço com figuras bidimensionais, são postas em causa as fronteiras entre escultura, pintura e desenho, que se tornam numa construção pictórica que modela a percepção do espaço.

A obra que renasce do seu contexto envolvente, acontece por propagação, expande-se e torna-se intrínseca ao espaço circundante. Trata-se de uma ação em que a sua essência reside na susceptibilidade em relação ao espaço para receber/acolher uma reconfiguração gráfica.

No trabalho artístico aqui considerado, o objetivo primordial é levar o espectador a sentir o que o circunscreve. A crença adjacente é a de que uma sociedade sensível é o indício de uma sociedade saudável.

ENG | Understanding space as a support, this project shows a china ink painting that opens a passage from the two-dimensional to the three-dimensional. By modeling and reconfiguring space with two-dimensional figures, the boundaries between sculpture, painting and drawing are called into question, becoming a pictorial construction that shapes the perception of space.

The artwork that is reborn from its surrounding context, happens by propagation, expands and becomes intrinsic to the surrounding space. It is an action in which its essence lies in the susceptibility of the space to receive/accept a graphic reconfiguration.

In the artwork considered here, the primary objective is to make the viewer feel what surrounds them. The belief here is that a sensitive society is the sign of a healthy society.

PT |Tiago Margaça é músico e artista multifacetado que trabalha com vários media, vendo o erro como meio de comunicação matérica, é o ponto de partida para todos os materiais com que trabalha.

Antes de terminar a Licenciatura em escultura na ESAD (Caldas da Rainha), venceu o Prémio de pintura Ariane de Rothschild 2007, e vai para Londres, onde faz uma residência artística na Slade School of Arts (pelo período de 6 meses).

Após várias exposições e prémios de menor dimensão, parte para Berlim com o objectivo de aprender a revelar película analógica, onde faz um estágio de sete meses e trabalha na ANDEC por oito anos, onde aprende a revelar super8, 16mm e 35mm. Durante este período deu mais relevância ao seu projecto musical ( “Musgos”), que continua até aos dias de hoje.

Em 2019 regressa a Aveiro com o objectivo de dar prioridade ao seu trabalho de escultura, terminando o mestrado em “Criação artística contemporânea" na U.A.

Durante este período, foi artista residente por duas vezes na Bienal de Coruche, autor de uma obra em Calcário, para o simpósio em pedra de Rio Maior e realizou três obras em Aveiro, uma para o Teatro Aveirense, outra para o Criatech (Museu de Santa Joana) e outra para o Museu da cidade de Aveiro. Tem também feito exposições na Casa Azul de Torres Vedras e na Estação Viva em Canelas, onde dá formação de desenho. A par disto está a desenvolver um projecto de arte e terapia na ala psiquiátrica do hospital de Aveiro.

Atualmente tem o seu estúdio na Gulbenkian de Aveiro onde desenvolve o seu trabalho.

ENG | Tiago Margaça is a musician and multifaceted artist who works with various media, seeing error as a means of material communication, which is the starting point for all the materials he works with.

Before finishing his degree in sculpture at ESAD (Caldas da Rainha), he won the 2007 Ariane de Rothschild Painting Prize and went to London, where he did an artistic residency at the Slade School of Arts (for 6 months).

After several smaller exhibitions and awards, he left for Berlin to learn how to develop analog film, where he did a seven-month internship and worked at ANDEC for eight years, learning how to develop super8, 16mm and 35mm. During this period, he gave more prominence to his musical project (“Musgos”), which continues to this day.

In 2019 he returned to Aveiro with the aim of giving priority to his sculpture work, finishing his master's degree in “Contemporary Artistic Creation” at the University of Aveiro.

During this period, he was resident artist twice at the Coruche Biennial, author of a work in Limestone for the Rio Maior stone symposium and made three artworks in Aveiro, one for the Aveirense Theatre, another for Criatech (Santa Joana Museum) and another for the Aveiro City Museum. He has also held exhibitions at Casa Azul in Torres Vedras and at Estação Viva in Canelas, where he teaches drawing. She is also developing an art and therapy project in the psychiatric ward of Aveiro hospital.

He currently has his studio at the Gulbenkian in Aveiro, where he develops his work.
